for her birthday, mom requested us not to buy her a cake for the simple reason that she doesn't wanna get fat. but what actually happened was she got more cake than she can imagine. haha..so much for her request.

on our way home after such a wonderful birthday feast at burgoo in mall of asia, we passed by this pastry shop called bread one.

the display window is lined with cute mini cakes which tempted us to go and have a look around. inside, the design is somewhat similar to the breadtalk concept which is self service and i also noticed that they too have pork floss buns, the breadtalk bestseller. since it was already closing time, there were only a few breads left and i didn't find anything that's attractive enough to try except for the ones displayed by the window. see, my mom and i are both suckers for pretty little things so we just can't help but purchase 6 different flavors of those mousse cakes.

being the crazy family that we are, we divided each of the 6 cakes into 5 parts so that each of us can have a taste of all the flavors. guess what, all 6 cakes taste the same, well, except for the thin layer of flavored topping. bummer. these mousse cakes may be very pretty to look at, but in fact, very disappointing to the palate. at 60 pesos each, trust me, it's SO not worthy. oh well, it just proves once again that not everything that glitters is gold.

now we realized that the shop's name probably speaks for itself. bread one = one taste.
