to follow that post about the satisfying snack at mexicali, this is all about my great disappointment of what was dubbed by many as the best halo-halo in town which is Razon's.

when i first saw that they have a branch in mall of asia, i wanted to try it right away. unfortunately, my tummy's already bursting from the food we ate at burgoo so i have to make a pass on it. last saturday, after having too much of that chili-less chili bowl, i think it was the best time to try that famous halo-halo to balance our palates.

the store was packed inside and out when we got there so i got the more excited to put that ice cold treat in my mouth. i ordered one for take out coz there's just no space in the store for us. when i saw the contents of the transparent plastic cup, i was a bit concerned that they forgot to put the ingredients of our halo-halo. little did i know that that was it. just bananas, macapuno, and a small slice of leche flan. to be frank, this is not the way i picture a halo-halo to be. it must be a mix-up of lots of ingredients that's why the word "halo-halo", as in halo halo ang iba't ibang sangkap. while i liked the consistency of their ice that's already mixed with milk, the fact is i don't drink milk. once i tasted that milky ice, i almost wanted to throw up.

i'm so sorry to all razon's patrons out there but this just isn't for me. i'd still want my halo-halo to have that dozen ingredients with ice cream on top.

***now as i've said over and over again, i'm not a certified food critic. if a food passed my standards, then i'll surely like it. no more over analyzing if it's according to the accepted criterias on judging food. i make these posts coz i just wanna share my gastronomic experiences with everyone so that if ever you wanted to try out a place, you'll quite know what to expect.
