'twas the ice cream-filled mochi that caught my eye. bcoz i so love mochi, i figured i gotta try. b, a pistachio lover, simply can't resist the slice of pistachio torte displayed in the freezer so we ordered both.
the mochis where a disappointment. note to self: frozen mochi is a no-no. mochis should be soft and gooey, not hard and brittle like an old rice. the pistachio torte, on the other hand, is a real winner. FIC has the best pistachio ice cream. sandwich it in between layers of merengue and it's heaven for us. top it with buttercream and pistachio bits, even more so lovely.
