7/15/10

just 3 weeks after celebrating the grandest event of my life at the only 5 star hotel here in the south and vacationing at one of the top 10 best resorts here in the country afterwards, we are currently stuck here at a cheap and smelly hotel nearby because of the 2 days consecutive brownout in the area courtesy of typhoon basyang. it's not that we can't afford to stay in a "real" hotel but we just bought a new lcd tv plus new room furnishings and i think that we already have enough major purchases for the month. i am KURIPOT that way. and besides, we only need this room to charge our gadgets so we figured there's no need to splurge. we don't plan on staying for the night anyway. as soon as we entered the room, the cheap smell entered my nostrils and i felt degraded. both b and i can't help complaining on every detail but really, we only get what we paid for. their tagline says "a european-style living hotel" but if this is how staying at europe feels like, then i wouldn't wanna go at all. but i know from my heart that europe is in no way comparable to this so i just hope they refrain from using that tagline. the only consilation we get here is at least now we both can use our gadgets and there's free wifi so that we have something to do rather than mope around the house. the mall is also just across the street so we conveniently had a combination of lunch, snack and dinner all at the same time. believe me, we stuffed ourselves with a whole LOT of junk foods to sustain us for the night.

i'm itching to go home really. we'll be doing so in a few hours after filling up all our batteries. and i'm praying and hoping and crossing my fingers that power will be back on when we arrive. this brownout is killing me.
