being a moa regular, we always pass by blue wave in macapagal road and i often wonder if business is still good for those few establishments within it. since moa is just a few blocks away, i'd rather stop and choose from a large selection of food stops in that humongous mall rather than the limited options in blue wave. but moa, no matter how big, can't really have everything.

there was one time when i was craving for a good slab of meat. i reckon a number of restos in moa offering steaks or chops but since it's just an ordinary day, i'm not willing to spend that much for my protein fixation. and that's when blue wave came to the rescue.

when b and i went to have banana split at iceberg's in blue wave during new year's day, i spotted this newbie next door, Steak MD. it's a rustic looking place characterized by it's wooden chairs and simple interiors. it offers charbroiled t-bone and porterhouse steaks at a very reasonable price. as we were about to make a turn to moa during that day i was craving for meat, my eyes lit up when i saw Steak MD's signboard. ah, it's about time that i try it. i quickly commanded b to just go to blue wave instead and he gladly obliged. teehee.

although the steak choices are limited to t-bone and porterhouse, Steak MD offers several sauces, or "rubs" as they call it, to go with the meat. i had a hard time choosing the rub so i decided to play it safe with their house specialty called rub ko to. b, on the other hand, wanted his steak to be spicy so he tried the atomic rub. both of us also ordered sidings of mashed potato which we loved, btw.

the atomic rub was good. although not as spicy as i was expecting it to be, it has some hint of barbecue-y taste to it. barbecue = yumness. and while my steak tastes good, rub ko to was still the usual brown gravy i know. i wished i had been more adventurous to try out the other rubs because the build me up butter rub (cheesy cheesy name in a funny way) which consists of butter, garlic and some herbs sounds good to a butter lover like me. i'd surely make it a point to try it out the next time i go back.

overall, Steak MD didn't disappoint. i sure had my protein cravings satiated and still had my budget intact. so when you're craving for some meat, go to the steak doctor quick.
