maybe this time, i will finally be able to act on it because i have a very pretty planner *grins*. no, it's not a starbucks planner which almost everyone seems to be toting around. i have this obsession for girly stuff so when i saw this belle de jour power planner at shopcrazy.com, i instantly ordered one for myself. i have been very giddy once i got hold of it since the first week of december that i can't wait for the new year to finally come.
so far, the first week of using the planner was quite helpful for me. even if it's a little big to carry in my bag, i bring it to work every single day jotting down things to do and listing my shopping list the moment i think of one. yeah, as if the planner has any other uses, no?
btw, i am a software engineer/analyst so i spend more than 8 hours in front of the computer. with the reliable MS Outlook just lying around somewhere in the system, why need a planner, you may ask...
...because i have serious trust issues and technology is not exempted from it. i have tried a couple of times to use outlook and even a palm pilot but it just doesn't work for me. i use 2 to 3 computers the least so ironically, i end up being more disorganized than ever because i can't seem to put together all those tasks in one computer. also being a paranoid freak that i am, there's always this thought at the back of my head that the computer will crash or the palm pilot will go berserk and just go blank on me the moment i need it most.
...because i kinda missed writing with a pen. i don't wanna end up like b who can't even perfect his signature because he completely got rid of pens and papers in his life by using only the keyboard and stylus as means of jotting down thoughts and information.
...because i wanna go back and see my accomplishments, not just delete them from my files or list. i have this habit of highlighting completed tasks with stabilo because i'm the kind of person who needs positive reinforcements in order to do good. more stabilo highlight means i've accomplished a lot and that inspires me to aim for more.
i so love my belle de jour but i think it would be great to have a pen holder with it. but since it's bound like a book, a pen holder does not have a place in it. maybe next time they change the design?
