b and i are having some awesome meals lately. when i say awesome i mean great food and great dining moment that need not put a hole in our pockets.

Bubble tea

this is our must-go place in megamall. we really love their pearl drinks because of the pearls...big and small ones that are so soft and chewy. they also offer a wide range of japanese fare that we somehow expected to be of mediocre value because aside from having a small-looking kitchen, they specialize in drinks the way coffee shops do. i never really enjoyed a single meal at coffee shops (unless it's just pastry) because their meals seem like 'instant' everything put together then served. but bubble tea surprised us with well plated food bursting with ingredients and flavor. and i must say everything tasted fresh and really delicious. just look at this tofu steak, you can see that they didn't scrimp on the ingredients here.

North park

when it's just the two of us, b and i seldom eat at chinese restos because their servings are usually good for 3 or more people and we would always want to order several items from their menu therefore we would always be left with a lot of leftovers most of the time. and when we really do crave for chinese, mann hann is always the place to go.

we always pass by this north park branch at the jetti gas station in macapagal road but never got interested in it because of the ambiance. but ever since i had this very satisfying dinner with college friends at next door, i was excited to bring b to north park again. so on our way home after a client meeting one rainy evening, the idea pushed thru. the ambiance is not something to talk about but the food, oh the food! the kung pao spareribs in red sauce, salt and pepper squid, shrimp dumpling with mushroom noodles satiated our famished stomachs. everything just went well together, even the honey lemonade and almond & black jelly drink. we went home marking it as one of our best impromptu dinners.

New bombay

last saturday, we were treated to lunch at their branch in glorietta. we've been yearning to go back at the columns branch ever since we first tried it last january but the diffucult parking condition constraints us from doing so. good thing we discovered this branch. at least now we can go anytime we want and shop afterwards to burn all the food we just ate (reasons to shop, haha). parking and shopping aside, i like this branch better because it has a more indian feel. the tables and chairs are these big pieces of burgundy furnitures with gold painted design. there's also these tiny bells in the back of the chairs that i find cute. the table staples: naan, chicken tikka masala, samosas and chicken biryani. the result: happy tummies.
up to now i still can't forget how good the food was and my stomach's currently growling for indian food now that i'm talking about it.

too bad i wasn't able to take more foodie pics to show here. but just in case you still haven't tried any of the above, pictures aren't needed, go ahead and see for yourself.
